Values

We are based on these core values at present, it is a continuous practice for us, they help us to stay in alignment.

Trust - This is what glues it all together, by trusting the process of learning for each individual we give them encouragement and space to create, learn and be the way that suits them best. We trust their innate nature to continue to unfold and flourish in a safe and wholesome environment that allows them to do so.

Openness - By remaining open, we remind ourselves to let go of control and rigid, limiting ways of thinking. Even if we don't mean to, it is easy to have pre-conditioned thought patterns running the show. When we remain open, we give more space in our minds for a newness, another way to seeing and being. It allows us to be in flow, to feel the inspiration and to follow it.

Honesty - Being truthful to ourselves is the first step to have truth prevail in our community. We strive for a democratic culture in our collective and for that to feel real, honesty is very important, being transparent, and speaking with authenticity helps us all align and understand our common project and each others needs. It also gives space for discomfort to be expressed and let out, to keep us thriving and growing in real and honest ways.

Discovery - Self -discovery and acceptance are at the core of what we want for the young people who come to Wonda. Through using one's choice, we gain insight into who we are and what we are drawn to, and as facilitators we pay close attention to this happening with our young people. This ongoing process of discovery within and without keeps us in motion even when it looks like we are still.

Presence - This value is about honoring our ability to show up to others and ourselves. It is simple yet complex to remain grounded and attentive to what's happening within us and around us. We want to bring presence into our core values to remind us to show up with neutrality, to be humble, to hear, to give a second before responding, to give attention to and to be able to receive all the goodness around us by being present in it.

Our Vision

Our vision is to return agency to learning, allowing more people to experience the goodness and healing that comes with freer educational environments.
We strive to be a setting that allows individuals to be themselves, to feel at home in and to be part of. This is a setting for young people to shape their learning, their way of being in the world, their present and hence, their futures.
Our vision is for it to a space that is co-created by all involved, and is ever changing and adaptable to reflect and meet the needs and wants of the community and times we are in. We want it to be a space that reflects the locality of where it is, a space that is engaging and inspiring. With adults as allies and creating meaningful relationships with those who attend the setting.
