Workshop Community Intervention

Together with queer bar Pamela, we are hosting a new workshop on Community Intervention. Here we learn and talk about ways how to deal with violence without involving the police and/or criminal law system. From our own experiences we know how dehumanizing the police and the criminal law system can be as a a survivor. without any accountability for the person doing harm. not to forget the structural oppressions that involving the police or criminal law system feeds into. for instance, racism, transphobia and ableism. 

In line with the principles of what is called 'transformative justice' we have been inspired by black, queer and native feminists in the US. This workshop is based on their knowledge compiled together in a specific handbook, that we also will share with you (digitally) during the workshop. 

This workshop will explicetly focus on the queer experience: therefore we want to encourage especially our queer siblings to join this workshop. 

As the workshop will be taking a full day, we will provide drinks and lunch. Because we want to keep the workshop accessible, admission fee is not required. However, we do hope you bare in mind the labor and the resources we put into and pay as you feel when purchasing the ticket. In this way we can continue to organise these workshops without exhausting these resources.
