About the event
One year ago, Wonda Women set up a guided tour at the Red Light District that was given by PIC (Prostitution Information Centre). Throughout the year, we frequently got asked if we would do another tour. Since the tour by PIC was so informative and educational, we decided to reach out to them again.
The Prostitution Information Center, called PIC, was founded in August 1994 by former sex worker Mariska Majoor. The PIC is an independent foundation that can provide for its own maintenance and has at its goal to make prostitution negotiable and to teach people understanding and respect for sex workers.
The aim of the walking tour is to give more general information about the sex industry in the Red Light District. Many of the guides and hostesses from PIC have worked in the sex industry or are still doing so. We will therefore get an impression of the Red Light District from the perspective of sex workers themselves.
