About the event

We are back with a new online Intersectional Talks! This time we will discuss the theme of ethical consumption with a focus on labour rights and sustainability. We are very excited that our honorary guest for this evening will be Anne Manschot!

Anne Manschot is Market Director Netherlands and senior sustainability consultant at Enact. She is an experienced facilitator and trainer, and is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Anne has focused her career on sustainability, specifically looking at supply chain management and labour rights. Previous to joining Enact, Anne advised on the implementation and development of auditing standards at both UTZ Certified and as consultant to the Consumer Goods Forum (CGF). She has extensive experience regarding supply chain data collection and risk management tools. Her projects include the evaluation of progress on worker’s rights at garment factories in Ethiopia and Indonesia, the establishment of a robust Chain of Custody framework for the Swedish municipalities, and human rights due diligence projects for several international retailers and brands.

Since 2014, Anne has created and facilitated workshops and trainings on a diverse range of topics ranging stakeholder engagement to traceability. She worked and studied in multiple countries and speaks Dutch, German, English, Spanish and French fluently. Anne holds a Bachelor degree in European studies and a Master degree in Media and International Conflict Studies. In 2018, she graduated with honours from the Erasmus university in Rotterdam where she researched the effectiveness of social compliance auditing. Anne is a leading expert in the Netherlands on the 'beyond social compliance' discussion.

What can you expect from the event? We will have an informal get together. This means that we will talk about worker’s rights, sustainability and how we can make ethical consumption choices, and so on. But there is also room for informal discussions and sharing experiences.

Do you have to be familiar with all these topics? No, you don’t! The most important thing to keep in mind is that our event are a safe space and that we are respectful towards each other. We are aiming to be an inclusive community. This means that there is a mix of individuals attending our events. Some of us have a deep understanding of feminism whilst others are not familiar with feminists thought at all. Please keep this in mind and be open and patient with other individuals who are still trying to develop their own understanding of feminism.

Accessibility: The meeting will be held online via the platform Zoom. It will be free of charge. Please let us know if there is anything else you need to participate in this videoconference.

Please reserve your digital spot by registering for the event on our website. A few days before the event you will receive a link via email to join the Zoom meeting. Please note that we only have limited spots available!
