About the event
For our next Intersectional Talk we are very excited to welcome Ceyda Keskindemir as our honorary guest. The discussion will focus on mental health in communities of color with a focus on how racism affects mental health.
Ceyda Keskindemir (1992) is born and raised in the Netherlands and has a Turkish background. She defines her self as Turkish-Dutch and uses the pronouns she/her. She finished her Master in Clinical Psychology at the VU University and worked as a psychologist at I-Psy (Intercultural Psychiatry) and at the same time at a General Practice as POH-GGZ. Currently she works at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA) as a psychology teacher at the Nurse department. Ceyda is mostly interested in the following topics: diversity, identity, sense of belonging, differences between majority and minority groups and their effect on psychological well-being. She therefore participated in different international projects related to these topics during her studies (Israel/Palestine/ Morocco/Bosnia- Herzegovina), lived as an exchange student in Malaysia for one semester, followed by a summer semester at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) for a minor in Chicana/o studies.
The event is free and will take place via Zoom. This event is open to those experiencing oppression as women & non-binary folx. The event is open to everyone, but we especially encourage people with a lived experience around the topic to participate. We have limited spots, so please don't forget to register to reserve your space!
