Becoming an Active Bystander of Street Harassment
Time & Location
Nov 12, 2020, 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM
About the event
Street Harassment is a problem that disproportionately affects womxn and often characterises our experience. Physical and verbal harassment leads to feelings of being unsafe and as risk in public spaces; and here at Wonda Women, we don’t believe anyone should have to experience it.
Again, we are teaming up with Fairspace NL to give you another workshop on being an active bystander of street harassment!
This workshop will create a space for reflection on power and privilege and will encourage you to think differently about public space. We will talk about street harassment and how you can be an active bystander. We will share practical tips on how to intervene in a situation when you witness someone being harassed. We will guide you through real life examples and give you the opportunity to test different intervention methods. You will walk away feeling empowered by the tools that will help you create free and safe public spaces for all.
Do you know what to do when you witness harassment in public? Join us and learn how to become an active bystander!
Join us for this 1.5 hour online workshop and learn how you can become an active bystander. This online workshop is for anyone who wants to take part in building a more inclusive society; ALL genders are welcome and encouraged to join the fight against street harassment.
